If you haven't ever heard of Mike Posner, you should start listening to his music now. His explosive first single, "Cooler Than Me," has already sold more than 1 million downloads and is at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100, number seven on the Digital Songs Chart and is at top five on the Top 40, Top 10 at Rhythm formats.
22-year-old Mike Posner is from Southfield, MI and graduated from Duke University with a BA in Sociology and Business. In March, 2009, Posner's first mixtape A Matter of Time, which he recorded in his college dorm room, quickly reached the number one position on iTunesU and was heard by J Records, who immediately signed him. After being signed by the record label, Posner finished the rest of his college courses at Duke, while working hard on his first album. While busy with all of that, Posner also managed to perform at shows at colleges and festivals across the country.
Posner has already performed on Last Call With Carson Daly and Lopez Tonight and will be appearing on Live! With Regis & Kelly, Late NIght With Jimmy Fallon, and The Wendy Williams Show starting in early August.
In early May, Posner opened for Drake at his sold out concert, just four days after walking in graduation at Duke University. The Los Angeles Times has already declared, "Mike Posner is on a quest to become pop's next best thing."
Posner's debut album, 31 Minutes To Takeoff, will be released on August 10 and his first headlining club tour started selling tickets on July 23. Posner will be performing at Cleveland's House of Blues on October 3.
