The Band Perry is an unique band for many reasons. The band members are siblings: Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, the Perry siblings have always been performing in high schools bands, although not always together. They waited to form The Band Perry until July 2005, and since then they have been cultivating a following. Their first year as a band, they performed in the "New Faces of Country" tour.

In the summer of 2008, The Band Perry met Garth Brooks' manager Bob Doyle and then started recording soon after.
"The three of us bring different strengths into the writing room," Neil points out. "Kimberly carries in a bag of melodies and lyrics, Reid always has some really great musical ideas in his back pocket and I bring in a sense of humor and some thread that ties it all together."
These new songs prompted Republic Nashville to sign them onto their label.
"Reid, Neil and I share genes and a musical pedigree," Kimberly explains. "We read the same classics and cook from the same recipes. With all of our likenesses though, I believe it's our distinctions that stir up the magic when we create. When the three of us sit down to write songs together, we pull from all of our individual perspectives and happenstances to create the most interesting song concoctions."
Their first single, "If I Die Young," off of their self-titled debut is a beautiful song with reflective lyrics that have resonated with millions of fans, reaching double platinum.
The Band Perry is proving to be unstoppable. They have been named AMC's Top New Artist of 2011. Then, at the CMT Music Awards, The Band Perry won Breakthrough Video of the Year for "If I Die Young." They are currently touring with Tim McGraw and will also open for Reba's tour later this summer.
The Band Perry's latest single "You Lie" is currently topping country charts. They performed this song at the CMT Music Awards, which can be viewed on the band's official page here.
