Take You Wardrobe From Everyday to Holiday!
A family gathering one week, a party the next…tis the season! Learn how you can take your wardrobe from every day to holiday without breaking the bank!
Unless you want to fork out your money for new dresses and party attire for each and every holiday event you attend, there are many ways you can infuse a few less- expensive pieces into your existing wardrobe and still look fabulous.
First, if you don’t own a little black dress, I highly recommend purchasing one. You can find a LBD at just about every retail store, ranging from $20 at places such as TJ Maxx or Forever 21 to higher-end dresses at department stores. Whichever route you choose, little black dresses can be a great foundation for any look, especially around the holidays. And with just a few changes in accessories, you can really transform the appearance of the dress.
A little inspiration I put together:
Here’s where you can purchase these items; most of them actually coming from Target.
LBD, Karen Kane, $44
Red Suede Belt, Forever21, $4.80
Woven Floral Infinity Scarf, Target, $8
Red Square Button Earrings, Target, $12.99
Red Pumps, Charlotte Russe, Prices vary
Shimmery Tights, Target, $10.50
As mentioned before, the right accessories can really transform an outfit. Here are a few additional suggestions to make your wardrobe holiday ready.
I’ve been seeing a lot of black blazers with sequined lapels lately. While I think they’re super cute and would definitely wear one to a holiday party, I can’t see wearing a sequin-trimmed jacket much outside the holiday season. Instead, try adding a sparkling brooch to an otherwise dull black blazer. This way, you can continue to wear the blazer long outside the holiday season, adorned with a brooch or not.
What about your hair? I’ll be honest, sometimes I have what to wear in mind and my hair…well it’s an afterthought. But with all the cute hair accessories out there, it doesn’t have to be. There are so many ways to dress up your hair, taking any look to the next level. Browse sites like Pinterest for hair styling ideas.
Tights are a great way to help keep your legs warm while making a fashion statement. With all the different color and pattern options, you can be holiday-ready in no time without spending a fortune. I once bought a pair of tights for Halloween and while I knew I’d only wear them out in public once, I now wear them under my jeans when it’s really cold out.
As you can see, dressing up for the holidays doesn’t require going out and purchasing an entire new look. With a little creativity and the right accessories, you can transform clothing you already own and save your money for other things you’ll be able to use all year round.
