Schwemberger Family…
During the course of their 27 year marriage, Dave & Debbie Schwemberger have seen enough hardships to last a lifetime. Born with a tumor on her spine called Lipoma, Debbie struggled with health issues her entire life. Starting at the young age of 14 the surgeries ensue, totaling more than 30 surgeries to date, ultimately resulting in the amputation of both of her legs below the knee and a second total hip replacement in December 2012. Debbie now uses her experience to work part time as a patient advocate at a prosthetics facility.
Through it all, her husband Dave has been the strength for Debbie, and their two children, Amber & Chris. Dave has always been a hardworking, vigilant husband & father. After losing his job at the Pella plant in Fairfield, when they closed the doors, Dave continued to do what he could to provide for his family.
The devastation does not subside. This past October, Dave was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Braving months of radiation treatment, chemo & surgeries to treat the cancer and the tumors that have spread to his brain, the medical bills are rapidly piling up. With no health insurance following the loss of his job, the Schwemberger family is now asking for help from family, friends & local businesses.
Donations of monetary value, gift cards, or items/baskets to be auctioned at the benefit would ensure a less exasperating struggle. Please contact schwemberger91385@yahoo.com, or Sarah Ruthven at Lukymunky82@gmail.com.
