Vanessa Hudgens’ stylist has shared how to create the star’s braided crown.
The actress recently stepped out at the WWE SuperStars for Hope event in Los Angeles sporting the trendy updo.
Celebrity hairstylist Richard Collins worked his magic on her full-on crown plaits and says it was a joint effort as to how they came up with the look.
“We collaborated and both decided to do a braid for this one,” he told Nylon magazine. “Her dress had a high neck and we didn’t want the hair to compete with the dress, and the braid also gave a chance to show off her new blonde highlights.”
Richard says the style was made by braiding, pinning and curling sections of her brunette locks. He gave a step-by-step guide to doing the look yourself and added that Vanessa’s style was set with plenty of hairspray.
“I started by giving Vanessa pigtail braids and then teased them slightly for a messy look. Next, I wrapped the braids around the front of her head and pinned them securely with bobby pins,” Richard continued.
“I left some of the hair out in front and curled with a 1 1/2-inch curling iron. I set the whole look with a few sprays of Serge Normant Meta Luxe hairspray and she was ready to go!”
The former High School Music star recently discussed how she prefers the fashion in fall. Vanessa loves the layered look and thinks cozy dressing looks good.
“I actually love when it gets colder because it’s so much fun to layer! I’m really into felt hats and will definitely be wearing those more often,” she said. “And I also love over-the-knee socks – they’re so cute with skirts and a little jacket.”
