Halle Berry’s James Bond director thought she wasn’t sexy enough.
The 47-year-old actress appeared in 2002’s Die Another Day helmed by Lee Tamahori.
One scene showed the actress in character as Jinx Johnson emerging from the water wearing a skimpy orange bikini.
The iconic moment came at the cost of the actress’ self-confidence as the director continuously shouted at her to be “more sexy” despite the difficult working conditions.
“The sea was freezing. I had to get in and climb out quite a few times and I went in the water and I kept coming out of the water,” she told British newspaper the Daily Mirror. “Then I had to walk up the beach in ‘a certain way’.
“All the film crew could hear were instructions being shouted at me saying ‘Can you be sexier?’”
Halle, once dubbed the sexiest woman in the world, joked that she thought she’d harm herself if she tried any harder to be attractive.
“I was like shouting back at the director ‘this is all the sexy I got,’” she mused.
“I’m gonna get a hip displacement if I try and make myself any sexier!”
The Oscar-winner joined a short list of actress when she lined up the part to play a Bond Girl.
But she confessed playing the role was not anything she aspired to when she was finding fame.
“I wasn’t allowed to watch James Bond movies during childhood,” she revealed.
“My mother thought the 007 films were too adult for me when I was growing up.”
