Britain’s Prince Harry told his brother to “stop flirting” during a charity event today.
The flame-haired royal and William visited company BGC Partners today. Taking to the phones as brokers to raise money for associations WellChild and SkillForce there was a humorous rivalry between them.
This money-based event is held annually as remembrance of the 9/11 attack on New York’s World Trade Center in 2001.
As he and his brother showed off their persuasion skills on a joint call, Harry joked his sibling has changed his mannerisms since becoming a father. William’s wife the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their first child, son George, in July.
He also teased his brother’s techniques on raising money.
“He’s on the phone, it’s all baby chat. I’m much better at helicopter chat,” Harry told a broker who was helping them at Canary Wharf. “Stop flirting, get on with it.”
When seemingly asked how his child is, William replied: “He’s very well thanks. He’s sleeping quite well.”
Professional broker Nick Thompson found the competition amusing. While he thought both royals were impressive, the businessman admits he thought Harry got into it more.
“It was interesting listening to them both to see who was more confident. Harry took to it very well,” he revealed.
Harry was so confident he welcomed a challenge of raising the value of a certain deal.
Grinning down the phone, the handsome soldier said: “Are you feeling like making some money for charity today? Good. Whatever you’re thinking, you can double it.”
It is thought their biggest deal broke BGC’s record for a foreign change trade at $33 billion.
Other famous names at the event included actor Idris Elba, newly pregnant actress Thandie Newton, singer Rod Stewart and Baywatch star David Hasselhoff.
