Zac Posen has unveiled his debut bridal collection.
The designer is creating a line exclusively for David’s Bridal and has shown three special gowns and two dresses for more social-occasions from the upcoming range.
While they are planning to be priced at under $1,350, Zac’s dresses look extravagant thanks to his signature touch. One of the wedding designs features a plain bodice with a sheer, free-standing skirt while another has a mermaid-style lace skirt with a chiffon-sleeved bodice.
His non-bridal dresses are all black and feature intricate designs and a range of shapes, from ballerina style to a more fitted floor-length piece.
Vera Wang also recently debuted a bridal collection. Rather than sticking to the classic white and ivory tones the designer created an all-pink line, with tones ranging from peony to coral.
Speaking after her show in New York on Friday Vera revealed why she chose the color and how she wants it to appear on women.
“Think pink and the irony of pink and all those shades for winter,” she told WWD. “Look how flattering is it on all skin types.”
Carolina Herrera recently previewed her first collection of new short wedding dress designs.
She believes the length gives them more versatility and so they can be worn for all occasions during the special day, not just the ceremony.
“I am so happy with my short dresses – I love them. They can wear them to the wedding, the rehearsal dinner, the party after,” she told WWD. “What gave me the idea was I went to a wedding in New York and saw all of the bridesmaids and the bride come out of the church in long dresses and suddenly all of them changed into short dresses in white, and I said, ‘What’s the point – for half an hour of a ceremony and then everyone was in short dresses for the rest of the night?’ I said, ‘You know what? I’m going to go do short.'”
