Jérôme Dreyfuss is adamant that he and his wife Isabel Marant will never work together.
French designer Isabel has created a new collection for H&M, and while Jérôme finds her work inspirational there is no way they will ever team up.
And it’s all because of the 17 year love the couple share, and their desire to keep killer tendencies at bay.
“Working together is not possible. I would kill her or she would kill me; I am sure that in the first hour there would be a murder and I love her far too much to kill her,” he laughed to British newspaper The Telegraph.
“We want to share the best of our job and not the worst; if you put two creative people together sometimes it can be really dangerous.”
Jérôme is a handbag designer and his signature styles include multi-compartments and detachable pop-on wallets.
These design staples have all come to be because Isabel is forever misplacing her personal belongings.
“My wife she is losing everything so I’m just trying to make her life easier. We were fighting because she was always losing her flight tickets,” he explained.
Despite Isabel’s international renown, the situation was very different when the pair first started dating.
Known as the ‘enfant terrible of French fashion’, Jérôme was actually the more famous out of the pair.
“When we were walking in the street people were saying, ‘Have a look, have a look, this is Jérôme Dreyfuss’s wife.’
“Now we are walking in the street and they are saying, ‘Have a look, this is Isabel Marent’s husband!”he joked.
