Ridley Scott’s drug trafficking drama The Counselor, starring Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz and Javier Bardem, came in fourth with $8 million.
Animated adventure Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 rounded out the top five with $6.1 million in earnings in its fifth week in theatres.
Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Benjamin Bratt and Andy Samberg are among stars lending their voices to the flick, about an inventor forced to leave his job when he finds out his most infamous machine is still operational.
