Osbourne rejects Gaga’s ‘peace offering’
Kelly Osbourne has reignited her feud with Lady Gaga.
The former reality television star has been trading barbs with the singer for months but her mother, Sharon, appeared to bury the hatchet when Gaga performed on the X Factor UK over the weekend.
Sharon was pleasantly surprised when the performer brought a cake that read “Happy Birthday Kelly”, and applauded her “graciousness” while sharing a photo of the pair on social media.
But birthday girl Kelly, who turned 29 Sunday, was not impressed.
“Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the would away? #JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar,” she tweeted.
“#StefaniStopIt!” Kelly continued, referring to the star on a first-name basis. “You are so far behind you think you are first! I live for a #Cause not for the #Applause!!!!!!!”
Kelly also posted a photo of the cake on Instagram with the caption: “#EatMyS**t #Hypocrisy”.
Gaga responded to the vitriol with a heartfelt message.
“I didn’t know it was your B-day until this afternoon. Meant as a peace offering. Happy Birthday,” she wrote.
“I like desert, but i prefer the truth. it’s sweeter,” Kelly tweeted (sic).
Hostility between the women arose after Kelly poked fun of Gaga for wearing a burka at London Fashion Week during an appearance on UK television show Alan Carr: Chatty Man.
Gaga’s fans inundated Kelly with cruel taunts and death threats. Kelly’s mother Sharon got involved and wrote Gaga’s manager an email asking him to step in.
Gaga responded with her open letter to Kelly, calling for her to be a better role model and blaming her for “breeding negativity” on her US television show Fashion Police.
The women have traded barbs publicly ever since.
