Benson: Female support is vital

Ashley Benson says it’s “necessary” to support other females.

The actress’ girl friends are a big part of her life and she thinks showing solidarity is vital for success.

“I think it’s so important. Females should support each other. It’s necessary, and to have your friends support you in everything you do, it’s great. When my friends succeed, it makes me feel happy. It’s good to support your friends,” Ashley gushed to OK! magazine.

The 23-year-old actress counts Selena Gomez as one of her closest pals.

The pair starred alongside each other in the hedonistic 2013 film Spring Breakers and have maintained a close relationship ever since.

“I just went to see Selena’s concert. She did so good! She sold out the Staples Center [in Los Angeles] – I’m so proud of her. She’s like my sister. To see her accomplish all that is amazing,” she said.

The Pretty Little Liars actress also confessed famous people are not exempt from embarrassing situations. She recalled a recent wardrobe malfunction, and said fortunately a friend was there to help her through it.

“It was my best friend’s birthday, and I was wearing these red leather pants, and I saw him, and I was super excited. I jumped up to see him, and my pants ripped. And my shirt was short! I was like ‘oh my gosh!’ I looked back, and I was so nervous if someone saw it.

“No one had anything to cover me up, so I had to get in my friend’s car, drive to her house, put on all of her clothes, because I had nothing,” she giggled.
