Kylie Jenner says her hectic work schedule means she’s only in school for a maximum of four hours.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has followed in the footsteps of her older sisters Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and set up business ventures outside of her TV success.
Although she may only be studying for a few hours a day, the 16-year-old is far from lazy. She manages a clothing collection with sister Kendall and sustains a modelling career.
“I do three to four [hours at school] and then I usually work, I’m pretty busy all day,” she told Ryan Seacrest on his KISS FM radio show earlier today.
Kylie’s lack of schooling was a bone of contention for her parents, Bruce and Kris Jenner, often seen on their show.
While Bruce had high academic hopes for his youngest daughters, Kris saw things in a different light.
“[Kylie and Kendall] had been attending a very elite private school until last year. The girls were constantly missing school because of business commitments including promotional appearances, and photo shoots.
“Bruce was absolutely adamant the girls not drop out of school in order to be home schooled,” an insider told Radar Online.
But Kris, often referred to as a momager because her involvement in her children’s careers, didn’t want Kylie or Kendall to miss out on any work opportunities, and saw school as something that could be revisited.
“This all played out on the reality show, but what viewers didn’t see was the fights between Bruce and Kris. Bruce always wanted the girls to go to college, whereas Kris doesn’t place an emphasis on education.
“Kris has told the girls they are only young once and they could always go back to school later. She doesn’t want them to miss out on lucrative deals because they are in school,” the source said.
