Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge is looking forward to meeting Australia’s ‘style sisters’.
This week marked the start of the 18-day royal tour of New Zealand and Australia, that Catherine and Prince William will undertake. They’ll also have eight-month-old Prince George with them.
The beautiful brunette is well known for her stylish fashion choices and has already wowed in a pillar box red Catherine Walker coat and matching hat by Gina Foster when she stepped off the plane in Wellington.
Royal insiders say Catherine is eager to meet Louise, Frances and Bridget Abbott, the three daughters of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who have been dubbed as the “style sisters” thanks to their snappy dress sense.
“The duchess is well aware that she’ll run into the girls at state events, such as the welcome at Sydney Opera House and the tour of Parliament House. Comparisons will be drawn between Kate and the sisters. But on this tour Kate is expected to be more regal [apparently at the Queen's request], so will be looking a lot more grown up while still retaining her glossy appearance,” a royal insider explained to British magazine Grazia.
The sisters have become stars in their own right and were even credited with helping their dad to win last year’s election.
They’ve already met one important royal, so are unlikely to be fazed by the arrival of William and Catherine.
“Kate is looking forward to meeting the girls and knows how well they got on with [Prince] Harry when he was in Oz,” the source added.
