Cate Blanchett oozes sophistication in her new ads for Silhouette eyewear.
The 44-year-old actress is the celebrity face for the Austrian brand’s Icon For An Icon campaign and appears in their latest advertisements.
Two black and white photos have been released, in which her long blonde locks are worn down and styled with volume. In one snap she is wearing a black dress and leaning on a hammock, while in another she looks to the sky wearing sunglasses, dressed in a white V-neck dress.
Both pictures were caught by renowned photographer Peter Lindbergh in Hollywood, who praised her photogenic skills.
“Cate is always herself, and that comes through in the pictures,” he previously said in a statement. “She is such a genuine person and great to photograph.”
Silhouette’s co-owner Arnold Schmied explained earlier this year why he believes Cate is the ideal woman for the job. He also feels the photo-shoot represents her elegance perfectly.
“We greatly admire Cate’s authenticity, and that’s what we’ve aimed to capture in this shoot. The rimless aesthetic of Titan Minimal Art allows her to shine through, without distraction or obstruction, so you are able to see her as she really is,” he said.
Cate adds this role to her already impressive fashion CV. She is the face of Giorgio Armani fragrance Sí and is also a fan of the designer label.
Previously speaking to Canada’s ELLE magazine, Cate revealed her first big splurge was an ensemble created by Giorgio himself.
“When I emerged from drama school with my very first paycheck, I bought an Armani suit, which I still have – and still wear!” she smiled.
