48 Hour Film Project

The 48 Hour Film Project is back and hundreds of filmmakers are ready to take the Cincy/SW Ohio region by storm!
What’s the 48, you ask? A timed filmmaking competition where you get 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a film, and rush to deliver it to the dropoff location on time in a weekend of fast and furious filmmaking fun!

We kickoff Friday night, May 16 at CET Studios on Central Parkway, where filmmakers get their 3 assigned elements they must include in their script: a line of dialogue, a prop, and a character, and to make it more challenging, they also draw their genre from a hat. Teams then rush to complete their films and turn it into the drop off in time. Teams are all sizes and all experience levels: we’ve had teams of sage media pros with dozens of crew and talent, to students in a video production program, to a father and daughter team, to a rag tag bunch of friends turned weekend film warriors, to a 10 year old who wrote, directed, acted and edited his first project on a 48HFP weekend!

On May 25, there will be a world premiere screening of all the films at the Thompson House in Newport, Kentucky. All films turned in on time will then be judged, with one city winner picked to go on and compete against 125 other cities worldwide at the annual international Filmapalooza in Hollywood, CA, March 2015. The top 12 selected films internationally will go on to screen at Cannes Film Fest May 2015.
