My husband is a veteran. He was prior Air Force, then Air Force Reserves, He truly believes in his duty and that every citizen should serve at least some time in the Armed Forces. He is currently on the end of a 1 year Tour in Iraq. They left Jan 1st and should return by then. Should. Things always change. We already know they are slatted to go to Afghanistan in about 2 years. Our 3 & 4 year old kids really miss him. I know we are not alone, but him being in the Guard and not stationed at a regular Base, we have less Army support directly around us (have to go to Columbus for everything with his Unit), and minimal family around here.
I support my husband and all that he believes in. He loves his "job" in the Guard (Blackhawk Crew Chief).
Thank you for your support! Love your show and listen every day!

Hello Brian & Laura!
I think what you are doing today is AWESOME! I believe that people that have served or are serving in the military are taken for granted for the services that they are provided to our country!
I have a cousin that just left for his second tour in Iraq last week and I have two other family members that have served and have done numerous tours overseas. I have seen firsthand what a family goes through with them leaving. The worries that they will be ok, the sadness that they are missing their children’s first steps, first words, and first birthdays.
I am blessed to know a number of people that are fighting, have fought, and have even made the ultimate sacrifice of giving their lives for the country that they so proudly serve. I want to give a big THANK YOU and GOD BLESS not only to my family members Matthew Miller, Michael Miller, & Tiffany Miller, but to everyone who is serving or has served in our military.
Thank you and God Bless our Veterans!

Hi Brian & Laura,
My husband (James Randall) served in the Navy for 5 years entering after his high school graduation. He served on an aircraft carrier, the Abraham Lincoln, which was called into action during the events of 9/11. Since exiting the navy he has made a career of being a middle school teacher.
In addition to their regular lessons, he tries to instill in his students the importance of respecting their peers, elders, and their country. In previous years he's also dressed in his old navy uniform for veterans day to further reach out to his students and get them to understand that their freedom should not be taken for granted. Not only is James an awesome teacher, but he is an outstanding husband and father and my daughter and I could not ask for a better man. I would like to take this time to thank my husband for his service. Happy Veteran's Day, James.
Thanks for your time Brian & Laura.

Dear Brian & Laura,
I heard today that you are planning a tribute to service men & women for Veteran's Day, I would like to tell you about my brother. My brother, Sgt. Lee Robertson is from Fayetteville, Oh (out here in Brown Co) and is in the Army's 2nd Battalion/327th Infantry of the 101st Airborne based in Fort Campbell, Ky.
Although he is home right now, he has proudly served the United States in Iraq for a total of 3 tours (approximately 4 1/2 years altogether), including when major combat first started. We are extremely proud of him and all service men & women, but let's not forget about their spouses and children - they serve right along with these soldiers and sometimes their jobs are harder!

Brian & Laura,
I wanted to write you and let you know about my wonderful stepdad--who
has been my 'dad' for the past 40 years this past October. He served
in Vietnam in 1965 & 1966. He experienced many things that you and i would consider nightmares and has never really been thanked for the service he performed to save & support our country. He is receiving support today in the form of the great healthcare he receives at the
Cincinnati VA Hospital & Medical Center. He, along with his 2
cousins, joined a branch of the armed forces in their 20's as a "one
for all, all for one" agreement. My Uncles Billy Frisch & Terry
Keller--all only children at the time, joined the Army, Army and Air
Force. They received wonderful support from their families, my great
Aunts, Uncles, & Grandparents during their service in the way of care
packages, money!!! & letters. I would like to thank all of them---
along with my GREAT UNCLE JOE-Terry's dad who served in the Korean War
& passed away this past April and my Grandpa Charlie, who also served
in the Korean War & passed away when i was a small child, for their
wonderful service & support of all of us to give us the freedom we
have today!!! This brings tears & sobs from my heart & head, but
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THEM & YOU ALL FOR DOING THIS!!!
Hey guys,
I wanted to email to pay respect to my family's veteran Douglass Mounteer. He served in the Army during the Vietnam war. During his time he won 6 purple hearts, 1 bronze star, and 1 silver star. Though we are amazed he survied being shot a few times, we lost him unexpectedly last Dec and placed him among the honored fallen in Arilington Cemetery 6/26/09. I could not let Veteran's Day go by without giving him the respect he rightfully earned as a soldier, father, grandfather, and husband. We miss him dearly.
Sincerly

Im a Cincy native now living out West. Id like for you to give a shoutout to my late uncle Kenneth Russell, who fought in the Korean War. He witnessed a lot of brutality (nearly his whole regiment was wiped out and he was one of about 6 survivors). He suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder but still managed to build a life after the war. He never considered himself a hero-he always said he just did what he had to do for his country-but I've always considered him a hero. BTW, thanx for doing a tribute to the vets ;they need to hear that we do appreciate them.

Hello Brian and Laura,
My dad, my brother and his wife are all veterans who have put their lives on the line in war.
My dad was a Green Beret in Vietnam and was awarded a purple heart. He gave it back, saying that he was just doing his job and unfortunately was injured and didn't deserve an award for being "stupid." My dad never received the support the soliders are receiving today. He was called names and spat on.
My brother and sister-in-law have both been deployed 4 times now. My brother is in the Army and just became a Green Beret himself. My sister-in-law is in the Air Force and is currently deployed in Afghanistan.
None of them speak many words of what they went through. We are very proud of our family members and of their strength and courage.
Thank you for remembering our veterans.
Morgan K.
I just wanted to give a shout out to my dad, Jonh Hearn, laid up with a broke back right
now. He fought in Vietnam and I just want to say thanks and I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!
Thanks. Julia
