(Courtesy FOX19) According to multiple eye witnesses, Bruno Mars has been staying in downtown Cincinnati for at least the past week.

Mars is set to kick off his Moonshine Jungle tour on June 22 in Washington D.C.

Reports indicate that Mars rented out NKU’s Bank of Kentucky Center to practice. An NKU spokesperson wouldn’t confirm or deny those rumors.

Mars’ appearance on the NBC show “The Voice” on Tuesday night was taped last month according to their website.

Twitter users throughout Cincinnati report seeing Mars and his entourage in downtown.

Downtown hat shop Batsakes reports that Mars came in on Wednesday and bought three hats.

Animal shelters around the United States euthanize about 3 million dogs and cats every year, according to the Humane Society of the United States . But Tuesday was different.

On June 11, shelters across the U.S. took the “Just One Day” pledge to not euthanize any savable animals and instead focus on methods to send companion animals home with caring families. The Boone County Animal Shelter , located at 5643 Idlewild Road in Burlington, is just one of the thousands of shelters participating.

“This is a perfect opportunity to reach out and adopt an animal and support our shelter’s commitment to saving more lives,” Shelter Director Beckey Reiter said in a news release. “We are asking the community to help make the shelter a bit emptier at the end of the day on June 11 and give all of our community’s homeless animals get a second chance at a loving home.”

On Tuesday, the Boone County Animal Shelter waived adoption fees for spayed or neutered dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Adoption fees typically range from $90 to $120 at the shelter. All animals are either spayed or neutered, have had their rabies shot, have a microchip and are up-to-date on initial vaccinations.

The shelter called “Just One Day” a big success. They adopted out 36 animals, including all but two of their adult cats.
The shelter was open until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
