hoxworthHoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati has an urgent need for blood and platelet donors. All eligible donors are encouraged to make an appointment to donate blood at their earliest convenience.

“Once again the winter weather is adversely impacting our collections,” said Hoxworth Associate Director/COO Gregg Boothe. “We are relying on the graciousness of our community to make lifesaving blood donations to help patients in our local hospitals.”

Since January 2014, Hoxworth has fallen short 2,337 units of its collection goal. During that two-month time span, there were 19 days when cold and/or snow affected our ability to collect blood. We fully expect that to be the case again on Monday.

Individuals are encouraged to make a donation today or Saturday in preparation for the snow storm predicted for our area. The blood collected by Hoxworth Blood Center will help save the life of a patient in a Tri-State hospital.

Walk-ins are always welcome. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (513) 451-0910.
