After meeting with NFL officials on Wednesday, Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga will enter a rehab facility at the end of the month, according to ESPN.com.
The Web site reported that Maualuga will check into the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., later this month for 30 days or longer.
He could miss the beginning of the Bengals' offseason conditioning program, which begins in late March.
Maualuga pleaded guilty Tuesday to drunken driving charges following his Jan. 29 arrest on charges of drunken driving and careless driving after he struck two parked cars and a parking meter on Scott Street in Covington.
District Judge Ken Easterling sentenced Maualuga to seven days in jail, discharged on the condition that he have no more offenses for two years and that he pay for any damage not covered by insurance.
Maualuga will also have to pay $859 in fines and fees, and his license will be suspended for 90 days.
He is subject to a fine of two game checks up to a maximum of $50,000.
