'Shutter Island' No. 1 at box office
Thriller bests 'Cop Out,' 'Crazies' to remain in top spot

"Shutter Island" earned an estimated $22.2 million over the weekend, out-grossing new releases and putting its total box office at over $75 million.
Its budget was $80 million.
Among new releases, buddy comedy "Cop Out," starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, opened in second place with $18.5 million.
Horror film "The Crazies" debuted at $16.5 million - good for third place.
"Avatar" fell just 14 percent in its 11th weekend in theaters, earning an additional $14 million for a domestic gross of $706 million. It's the first film to gross more than $700 million domestically.
Finishing in fifth place was "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," with an estimated $9.8 million gross.

7. "Dear John" - $5 million
8. "The Wolfman" - $4 million
9. "The Tooth Fairy" - $3.4 million
10. "Crazy Heart" - $2.5 million
