Donut Day 2010 on Fountain Square
June 2, 2010, 5:56 p.m.
The Salvation Army and The Greater Cincinnati Retail Bakers Association are holding Donut Day 2010 Friday, June 4th on Fountain Square from Noon - 2 p.m.
Stop by for FREE donuts and coffee! The Salvation Army 'created' National Donut Day in 1938 in Chicago, in response to the need for a fundraiser to support those suffering from the long-term ill-effects of The Great Depression.
Ever since 1938, National Donut Day has come to represent a time to stop and reflect on the heritage of the donut, as a sign of service to others, as well as an opportunity to share some free donuts in the community.
Donut Day 2010 in Greater Cincinnati is brought to you by BakeMark, a leading supplier to the bakery industry, and the Greater Cincinnati Retail Bakers Association – they are honored to partner with The Salvation Army for this celebration. Participating bakeries include: Bakery Barn, Bonnie Lynn Bakery, Bonomini Bakery, Busken Bakery, Graeter’s Bakery, Harrison Home Bakery, Holtman’s Donut Shop, Jansen’s Sweet Sinsations, Kroger’s Bakery, Little Dutch Bakery, North College Hill Bakery, Regina Bakery, Schmidt’s Bakery, and Servatii Pastry Shop.
