Jennifer Aniston is the leading lady for the film The Switch, a movie that channels a single woman ready for motherhood who decides to get a sperm donor in order to make that dream possible.
Recently, Jen Aniston has spoken about her own views on this subject and supports the idea of sperm insemination for a single woman. She said that women no longer have to wait around for the perfect guy to start a family.
“Women are realizing more and more that you don't have to settle, they don't have to fiddle with a man to have that child,” Aniston said to reporters. “They are realizing if it's that time in their life and they want this part, they can do it with or without that.”
When this news reached Bill O’Reilly’s ears, he was furious. On The O’Reilly Factor he said, “She's throwing a message out to 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds that, 'Hey you don't need a guy. You don't need a dad.' That is destructive to our society.”
He also said that Aniston is undercutting the value of fathers in society. However, Aniston did not mean to send that type of message, so she explained herself to People Magazine.
“Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth,” Aniston said. “And, of course, many women dream of finding Prince Charming (with fatherly instincts), but for those who've not yet found their Bill O'Reilly, I'm just glad science has provided a few other options.”
Aniston is not promoting that teen girls run out and get inseminated, as O’Reilly suggested. Instead, she is merely stating that nowadays women who have not found a potential father of their children can give birth to a child through insemination before her time runs out. Women no longer have to fear that they can never have children if they do not find the proper man in time.
