BP vs BP

Find out what surprising comment Brad Pitt had for BP execs.

August 24, 2010, 7:50 p.m.

Brad Pitt is notorious for his charity work and overall generosity towards anyone in need, but he had something not so kind to say about those who were involved with the BP oil spill. Pitt and director Spike Lee filmed a documentary after Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans in 2005. The documentary, called "If God is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise," was supposed to end happily with the New Orleans football team winning the Super Bowl, but when the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded in April, they extended the filming of the documentary to include the story.

When Pitt was asked how he feels about the people who were involved with the worst environmental disaster in history, he had this to say:

"I was never for the death penalty before – I am willing to look at it again."

His angry remarks come as a surprise, since he's known as being a humanitarian.

Pitt is involved with multiple charity organizations all over the world, including Global Green, Not On Our Watch, Doctors Without Borders and he personally created the "Make it Right" project to build 150 sustainable and affordable homes in an area in New Orleans that was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina.
