Grace Potter & the Nocturnals blend soul, blues and rock to form a sound you won't want to miss. The fiery group is made up of singer-songwriter Grace Potter, who plays guitar and electric piano, Scott Tournet on guitar and harmonica, drummer Matthew Burr, Catherine Popper on vocals and bass guitar and Benny Yurco on electric guitar and vocals.

The band's self-titled album, released in 2010, was produced by Mark Batson, who has worked with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Jay-Z and the Dave Matthews Band.

“This record is the first time it’s really been us — the first time we’ve all found each other and ourselves,” says Potter about their latest album. “Everybody was totally comfortable, everything we had was sitting right in front of us, and it just poured out of us. The whole thing was fluid and effortless. In my mind, an album shouldn’t be self-titled unless it feels that way.”

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals were recently chosen as VH1’s “You Oughta Know” Artist on the Rise, joining the likes of Bruno Mars, Mumford & Sons, Amy Winehouse and Feist, among others.

In October, PBS television show "Live from the Artists' Den" premiered “Paris (Ooh La La),” a hit single off Grace Potter & the Nocturnals' self-titled studio album.

The band's first album “Nothing But the Water” was released in 2005. In 2007, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals released their second album “This is Somewhere.”

Although Grace Potter & the Nocturnals have been building their success with each album, their newest has been an exponential leap for the band.

“We had a stylistic epiphany,” Potter says of her band’s mounting success. “We realized we’re not the kind of band that’s ever gonna fit neatly in one genre, and this time we just let the songs be the songs. We just naturally wound up playing them in a certain way — they all have that beat to them, physicality and a mood. You have to either want to dance to it or cry to it. But there’s also a feistiness to these songs that’s completely unapologetic.”
