Give Back Tuesday: Center for Respite Care 8/21

Today I was joined by Laurie and Kay from Center for Respite Care!

This AWESOME organization is doing some pretty amazing things in our community.

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, they provide quality, holistic medical care to homeless people who need a safe place to heal, while assisting them in breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Individuals who are homeless experience a high rate of unresolved health conditions and complications, repeat emergency room visits and extended hospital stays due to improper healing.

That’s where the Center for Respite Care comes in!

After medical issues are identified, diagnosed and initially treated, sometimes extended recovery is needed. Patients can spend up to 30 days at Center for Respite Care. The Center provides a bed, 3 healthy meals each day, showers, laundry facilities and clothing as needed.

And it doesn’t stop there!

They also focus on becoming an important link in the transition to self-sufficiency. They provide an array of services to assist individuals in developing and implementing a case plan including application for entitlement programs, coordination of plans with external case management, and referrals to housing/shelter or treatment programs, income, substance abuse and mental health services.

This October Center for Respite Care will be hosting their annual Transformation Awards event! All are welcome – They would love for you to join! 🙂
