This week, On The Sidelines, we’re joined by one of the first women to really break into the sports anchoring scene on a national level, Betsy Ross. She is a former ESPN News anchor and currently working as a Sportscaster for FOX19 here in town. She also has her own marketing firm called Game Day Promotions. On this episode, we’ll talk about Betsy’s broadcasting journey. Who inspired her to become a sports broadcaster? What was it like hosting the 1996 Olympics? Which social media platform should young aspiring sportscasters be using to help promote themselves? What was it like being live on the air when September 11th happened? We have a lot of ground to cover and this woman KICKS ASS, on and off the field. She is someone we, as female broadcasters, admire tremendously.
