Over-the-Rhine International Film Festival – All weekend long Downtown and in Newport! Film screenings, discussion panels, themed workshops and educational events will be hosted at diverse venues throughout Over-the-Rhine and the Greater Cincinnati downtown area.
Mermaids and Pirates – 11 a.m.-5 p.m. now through Oct. 14 at Newport Aquarium. Mermaids return to Newport Aquarium for a limited time. See them swim underwater in the Coral Reef Tunnel among tropical fish. And now, for the first time ever, mermaids and stingrays can swim right up and meet you in the all new Mermaid Cove!
The Friends of the Public Library Fall Used Book Sale – 8456 Vine St., Hartwell. The warehouse houses a collection of over 100,000 books, but thousands more will be showcased during the 4-day savings event. All mass market paperbacks will be bargain priced at 50 cents. This nonprofit fundraiser benefits the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
Land of Illusion – 8 p.m. Thursday-Sunday through October Land of Illusion in Middletown! One of a kind celebration of terror featuring four fear-filled, bone chilling, blood curdling, mind blowing, haunted attractions, including the haunted hospital.
Cincinnati Pops Orchestra: America’s Wonders in 3D – Now through Sunday at Music Hall. Stunning 3-D images of the great American landscape, from national parks to bustling cities, is set to an all-American live orchestral score including iconic songs and themes.
Donauschwaben Oktoberfest – Friday through Sunday at Donauschwaben Park. Live music, traditional German food, drink and dancing.
Kentucky’s Edge Festival – Friday and Sunday at various venues in Covington and Newport. Signature event that pairs bourbon with all things Kentucky. Market with exhibitors at Mainstrasse, free live music, Smoke Justis block party, bourbon conference at NKY Convention Center and more!
CliftonFest – Friday and Saturday at Clifton Plaza. Arts and music festival. Pet parade, vendors, live music and live art drawing.
Anderson Cooper & Andy Cohen – 8 p.m. at the Aronoff Center.
Legends of Hip Hop – 8 p.m. at US Bank Arena.
Highway 50 Fright Field Haunted Trail & Woods – Now through Oct. 27 at Highway 50 Fright Field. Three haunted attractions: Haunted Trail & Woods, Operation Termination Zombie Paintball, and Corn Cob Cannon. The haunted trail lasts approximately 20 minutes.
Horror Hike Haunted Trail – 1680 US-50 in Greendale. Full scare haunted attraction that takes visitors on an approximately 1/2 mile hike, over uneven and rough terrain, through a wooded environment. Guests will be subjected to blood, guts, gore, and many other elements that are conducive to the scare theme.
Cincinnati Wine and Food Experience – 1-4 p.m. at Yeatman’s Cove. Enjoy grand tasting, gourmet showcase by local chefs, emerging talent and culinary leader, live cooking demonstrations, chef meet & greets, seminars and more.
Cincinnati Cyclones vs. Indy Fuel – 7:30 p.m. at US Bank Arena.
Bean Bash – Noon-6 p.m. at Boone County Fairgrounds. Benefits several Kentucky charities. Features bean soup, raffle, music, live and silent auctions.
Family History Fair – 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Public Library of Cincinnati Hamilton County – Main Branch. Features guest genealogist is Sunny Jane Morton, the co-author of the new book “How to Find Your Family History in US Church Records.”
Fall Festival – 11 a.m.-11 p.m. at Vinoklet Winery & Restaurant. Craft show starts at 1 a.m. featuring many local craft artists, chicken dinner starts at noon and live music at 1 p.m.
Sunflower Festival – 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Gorman Heritage Farm Saturday AND Sunday! Hayrides, sunflower maze, corn maze, live music, food trucks, MadTree Brewery beer booth, vendor booths, pumpkins, and of course, cut your own sunflowers $1 per stem or 12 for $10.
Lebanese Festival – 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Kennedy Heights Arts Center. In conjunction with Voices from Lebanon, the community is invited to a festival sharing Lebanese/Arab culture including music, dance, ethnic food, folk art, poetry reading, and children’s activities.
Northside Flea – 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Building Value in Spring Grove Ave. Handcrafted items by makers and crafters from across the region, as well as local Northside fare. Hosted by Building Value, the outdoor show celebrates sustainability focusing on items made from reclaimed, recycled or salvaged materials.
Undy Run/Walk – 7:30-10:05 a.m. at Lunken Playfield. It is a family-friendly undy-themed RunWalk created by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, with the goal to provide support for patients and families, caregivers, and survivors; to raise awareness of preventive measures; and inspire efforts to fund critical research.
Wyoming Fall Festival – 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Wyoming Ave. More than 80 artists, crafters, vendors, organizations, and more will participate in this fall classic. Local music, food and free children’s activities. Musical entertainment can be heard throughout the day at the Gazebo. The 12th Annual “Wyoming’s Got Talent” contest will take place at the gazebo at 3 p.m.!
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals – 1 p.m. at Paul Brown Stadium.
Hyde Park Square Art Show – 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Hyde Park Square. Largest one-day art show in the city with over 300 artists representing media from painting to sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, photography, multimedia and more.
The Taste of Tibet – 6-8 p.m. at Ruth’s Parkside Cafe in Northside. Fundraiser for monastery’s new building project and will include raffle prizes and small Tibetan Bazar. Buffet meal of traditional Tibetan food prepared by Tibetan monks.
