With the #1 pick, the Bengals took LSU Quarterback Joe Burrow. Prior to the draft, reports were the Bengals were getting calls from Miami about the first pick, but they didn’t want to leave that #1 spot.
Coach Zac Taylor told us Thursday night they knew about two weeks ago Burrow was the guy for them. He added one of the traits he really liked in this quarterback was Joe’s confidence. Joe Burrow joined us last night, too, and added, “Every conversation I had with Coach Taylor and Callahan… they made me very excited to be a Cincinnati Bengal.”
Burrow is aware of his popularity and said he feels it’s going to be a great relationship—and he’s ready to win a lot of football games with this club. Next up: Pick 33 on Day 2 for the Bengals. It’s to be determined if they add another weapon for Burrow or add to the defensive side in the corner or linebacker room.
