Today on Give Back Tuesday we were joined by Ellen Flannery, the Founder of CancerFree KIDS!
The mission of CancerFree KIDS is to eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that might otherwise go unfunded.
Pediatric cancer has affected the Flannery family directly, their baby daughter was diagnosed with cancer in both of her eyes at 5 months of age. Today, thanks to cancer research, that baby is a healthy college student and living life to her fullest :).
CancerFree KIDS funds innovative research that has the promise of gentler treatments and cures for children with cancer. They know that seed money for novel ideas is critical, and yet it is the most difficult type of funding to get. Potentially game-changing ideas often go untried due to lack of funding.
That’s where CancerFree KIDS comes in!
They raise funds all year long, through fundraising initiatives, benefits, 5k races and more and then give it all away at the end of the year in the form of research grants.
Then they start over.
If you are interested in donating or participating in one of CancerFree KIDS’ upcoming events – Check out their website, HERE! <3
Make sure you eat at your local Jersey Mike’s Subs this month! March is their Month of Giving, everyday this month they will be donating a portion of profits to CancerFree KIDS!
