Did you know the Cincinnati Zoo is the GREENEST ZOO in America?!

All thanks to their amazing, hard-working staff, and of course, the “Green Queen”, Fia!

Fia was my guest today on the show and she taught us all about the importance of taking care of the environment and ways to conserve energy and water!

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has saved ONE BILLION gallons of water, enough to provide water (indoor and outdoor use) for 10,000 households for a year, since 2006 when it launched this major initiative to reduce water usage!

WOW!

The Cincinnati Zoo recognizes the importance of conserving water… And energy!

Light Up Avondale has been in action since January 2017. The Zoo has made tremendous strides to continue to upgrade lights on its campus to LEDs, including their parking lots AND the Festival of Lights! Within the community, they have partnered with Donovan Energy to conduct lighting audits and begin the scope of work for non-profits and churches to switch to LED light bulbs.
