Today on the show I was joined by Mary from Girls on the Run Cincinnati!
This organization is doing some pretty amazing things. They inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which integrates running. For girls in grades 3rd – 8th, they use exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to help the girls with the confidence they need in those critical preteen years.
Volunteers at Girls on the Run understand that being a preteen girl comes with all kinds of challenges. By training together and working towards their main goal of completing a 5k at the end of the ten week program, they positively impact girls’ lives by helping them increase their self-confidence, develop healthy relationships and feel good about themselves.
It is proven that girls that join Girls on the Run will have improved confidence, more interest in physical activities and will learn critical life skills.
They will also make new friends! 🙂
Coming up next Saturday, the girls will tackle the Annual Girls on the Run 5k at Sawyer Point! This is their opportunity to show their friends and family how hard they have worked over the past ten weeks.
Anyone is welcome to participate in the 5k! If you are interested in registering or making a donation, CLICK HERE!
They always need extra help training and mentoring the girls! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, CLICK HERE 🙂
Thank you so much, Mary, for hosting Give Back Tuesday and inspiring our youth to love themselves and be the best they can be!
