Home for the Holidays

If you followed along last year, you know that Jon and I built our dream house with Fischer Homes. If you missed it, check out our previous blog posts here. This year, we’re continuing to let you peek behind the curtain and get a sense of what life is like in our new home!

We were so happy to be in our home for the holidays. It might sound cheesy, but it’s so true! All my life, I’ve just wanted to host parties, make good food and drinks…and I (we) got to do that! Not to mention the decorating to make it feel cozy and festive! The stockings were hung on the mantel with care. And our Clark Griswold style Christmas tree easily fit (the bigger, the better)! 😂

We have to agree, we definitely picked the right home layout (the Blair) for our lifestyle. It was so nice to have everyone gathered together in the living room and kitchen. Plenty of space for passing around appetizers and drinks. Oh—and definitely enough for opening Christmas gifts…complete with a roaring fire on the big screen! 😂

Once the hustle and bustle wound down, after dinner, all the girls snuggled up on the couch to watch a Christmas movie while all the guys made their way to Jon’s beloved man cave, aka the rec room, to hang out.

It was so nice to have the space to entertain a large group but also have the separate entertainment areas for us to split off if we wanted to.

I think this may have been one of the best holidays, in my opinion, because we could finally treat our families to a relaxing holiday in our home. Oh, and we didn’t have to travel LOL—that’s always a plus!
