Jeff Bio

Jeff, here! Thanks for visiting my page!

I was born just outside of Boston. I’ve got two sisters who live back home. My mom lives in Florida. I’m divorced, no kids…but I’ve got 5 nieces, a nephew, and my girlfriend’s three amazing kids – all of whom I adore.

Jenn and I started at Q102 in 2002. It’s hard to believe it was that long ago! What an amazing time we’ve had!

For the past 5 years, I’ve lived in Over-the-Rhine, but by the time you read this, I’ll have moved to Avondale. I have a thing for emerging neighborhoods (Walnut Hills, Clifton, Corryville and Northside), and I believe we’re going to see an amazing transformation take place in Uptown Cincinnati over the next 10 years.

As for me, I’m a pretty low-key guy. I dislike being the center of attention. I keep a very small group of cherished friends who I’ve known for years. People say I’m hard to read, and that is probably true – I don’t enjoy small talk, and it takes me a while to connect with strangers. But once we become friends, I’m fiercely loyal…and as long as you don’t burn me or violate my trust, we’ll be friends for life.

Things I Love: Traveling (especially road trips to places I’ve never been before), dining out, movies, antique microphones, antique radios, TV theme songs, and vintage TV station logos. I’m very possessive of my red and black Sharpies. I get a weird feeling of satisfaction when my laundry is done and my bills are paid. I love the feeling of driving on a freshly paved road. I’ve caught heat for admitting this, but I LOVED Downton Abbey and was bummed to see it end. I’m big into House of Cards, The Blacklist…and CBS Sunday Morning is a weekend ritual. I don’t consider myself a sci-fi nerd, but I think Star Trek: The Next Generation was one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

My Quirks: I collect old radio station jingles. I’m obsessed with subway/bus stop signs from my hometown. Whenever I eat chips, I have to eat the broken ones FIRST. Oh, and did I mention that I’m kind of a real estate groupie? I love to know what people bought and sold their house for. And while I have no interest in renovating or remodeling my own home, I love to watch other people do theirs…so if you’re redecorating, building an addition or remodeling your kitchen, feel free to invite me over. I want to see and hear all about it!

My Favorite Movies: North by Northwest, Lost In Translation, The Way, Elizabethtown, Rain Man, The Shining, The Insider, Spotlight and Brooklyn just to name a few!

A Few Things I Want To Do Before I Die: I want to drive Route 66, drink whisky in Tokyo, visit Lockhart, TX (America’s barbecue capital), attend the Sundance Film Festival, see the Grand Canyon, appear as an extra in a big Hollywood movie and see Monument Valley!

Why I Chose Radio as a Career: Growing up, I loved listening to the radio and was intrigued with how it all worked. The DJs always sounded like they were having so much fun!
