Well… It’s 90 degrees outside but that won’t keep me from celebrating my favorite time of year: FALL!!!!
Over the weekend, my sister and I walked around her neighborhood and collected some pine cones for a fun, easy and reasonable DIY craft.
You can do this, too! Or, you can buy some from a craft store.
If you decide to do what we did and collect pine cones from the great outdoors, make sure you properly clean ’em!
Here’s how:Β
Wash pine cones in soap and water, pat dry.
Lay pine cones evenly on a cookie sheet.
Cook pine cones for 30 minutes at 200 degrees.
Let cool before crafting.
What you’ll need:Β
Paint brushes.
FolkArt Metallic Acrylic Paint – I used gold and silver but you can use any colors you want! This paint can be found at your local craft store.
Poly Flake Polyester Glitter – Also found at your local craft store.
Check out my short and sweet DIY vid below (ft. my sister’s dog, Stanley) for a quick lesson on how this is done. π
Thanks for watching!
Oh, and HAPPY FALL, Y’ALL!!
