Today on the show we were joined by Lora Melin, the founder of Maggie’s Mini Therapy Horses!
For years Lora had been looking for a way to combine her love of horses and passion for helping children with chronic illnesses…. when the idea for Maggie’s Mini Therapy Horses arrived!
Maggie (Lora’s daughter) was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of two and always LOVED horses. Lora was able to see how interacting with horses helped Maggie and made her feel happy, and wanted to share that joy with others.
Maggie’s Mini Therapy Horses meets with organizations that help people who have chronic illnesses, special needs or other disabilities. They have programs for schools, hospitals, hospice, local police & fire departments and other organizations that may benefit from animal assisted therapy.
Animal assisted therapy is proven to improve mental, physical and emotional well being. ❤
Their highly trained minis are for petting and loving only, they cannot be ridden. 🙂
They operate by donation so all donations big or small are greatly appreciated!
It’s safe to say I really, really want a mini horse now (hahaha). Could they be any cuter!?!
If you would like to get in touch with Lora about visiting Maggie’s Mini Therapy Horses, she would love to hear from you! Contact her, HERE!
