About Rodney

Hello! My name is Rodney Lear. I was born and raised here in Cincinnati. I have fond memories of going to Riverfront Stadium with the dad and older brother to watch the Big Red Machine in action. My dad, for some odd reason, would always listen to the game on the radio while we were sitting in the nose-bleed section of the stadium (which every fan knows as the “red seats”).

RodneyPhotoStrip1

I have been in the media industry for over 30 years. I started my career behind the camera at WCPO-TV. Today, I spend much of my time behind a microphone as Host and Executive Producer of Sunday Morning Magazine with Rodney Lear.

I’m the proud father of two teenage sons. When I’m not at the station, you can find me on the field coaching my boys in soccer, track and field, and baseball.

When I’m not coaching, I’m yelling—I mean cheering—my youngest son on to victory or beaming with pride watching my oldest son play in his high school marching band.

I love music (I need it on most of the time or else I can’t concentrate), enjoy the arts (my favorite artist is Kadir Nelson), like to read (my wife makes fun of me because I read a lot of middle school and YA novels for work). I enjoy walking the king of my house, our scrappy rescue Yorkie Terrier mix, Milo.
