With the holidays quickly approaching, I thought it would be neat to spotlight a local charity helping feed those in need.
Today on the show I was joined by Lisa Andrews, the founder of People’s Pantry Cincy!
People’s Pantry Cincy was made possible by a grant through People’s Liberty. They chose 10, low income, food desert neighborhoods to receive a mini food pantry. The pantries are made from upcycled single copy news boxes, donated by the Enquirer and the Cincinnati Herald.
They are then rehabbed and designed/decorated by local artists, girl/boy scout troops, local students (etc.) and placed near rec centers, gardens, churches and schools for safe access, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
How cool?!!?
Lisa and her crew have one goal in mind: to nourish the neighborhood and make sure no one is without food or toiletries! If you would like to build or design a pantry for a neighborhood in need or find out where you can drop off some non-perishable items, they would love to hear from you!
