It has been a busy 24 hours in Simone Biles world – USA Gymnastics released a statement stated the four-time Olympic gold medal winner withdrew from the all-around competition that would take place in Tokyo on Thursday.
After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition. We wholeheartedly support Simone’s decision and applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being. Her courage shows, yet again, why she is a role model for so many. pic.twitter.com/6ILdtSQF7o

This was less than a day after removing herself from the team final – Biles felt she just wasn’t mentally ready to compete.
Simone Biles pulled out of the women’s gymnastics team final earlier. “I just felt like it would be a little bit better to take a backseat, work on my mindfulness and I knew that the girls would do an absolutely great job and I didn’t want to risk the team a medal,” she said pic.twitter.com/o9uhkg1EPu

One thing about life and sports – is I feel we all have an opinion and me personally I never competed in the Olympic Games – I played sports for fun growing up and grew up in a sports loving family – Simone Biles decided to withdraw she didn’t want to hurt her team and she felt she just wasn’t mentally ready – all eyes are on her at the world’s biggest stage and we never know what someone is dealing with or going through. I wish her nothing but the best. In other Olympic news: Katie Ledecky won a gold medal in the 1500-meter freestyle!
PURE. DOMINANCE.

Also a special shoutout to Cincinnati’s own – Kareem Elgazzar he’s a sports photojournalist in Cincinnati – he’s shooting for USA Today in Tokyo and is getting some special shots – no surprise Kareem is killing it at the Olympic Games.
